Hi Amossi, I'll see if I can track down an answer, but maybe someone else in the community has an idea in the meantime. I suggest you do not directly turn off your SB when you wish to use the TV internal speakers.

The problem is when i turn the tv off not when i switch sound modes. Only when i turn off the tv and turn it on later the connection is lost. Could you check if your TV is running the latest firmware version? You can use this link to find out how to check it and update it if needed. Also, is it possible to try disabling the Bravia sync settings on your TV? I want to know if the same issue will occur with the sync disbled or not. My apologies if I didn't understand you well in my first response.

Could you perhaps test the following scenarios and report back the results. It helps us understand better under which conditions is the issue happening or not happening. Please start all over when moving from one scenario to the other, don't skip steps in between. Post back your results. We will review them, then take it from there. So it might very well be that at the end of the day, your SB and TV are simply not the best match for each other.

That is what we soon will find out together. The problems seems to be fixed when restarting the TV but it occurs again after turning it off. Community Share your experience! Turn on suggestions. Turning the auto-off feature off/on

Read times. Andaho Contributor Posts: 5 Country:. After a period of inactivity, to meet EU regulations, they have to automatically switch off.

This is annoying because I don't want to have to press 2 power buttons when I turn the TV on I have the soundbar connected via the headphone socket on the TV, so I control the volume with the TV remote. I want the soundbar to just stay on! My particular model states that it goes into standby after 15 minutes of no sound and no buttons on the remote being pressed there are no buttons on the soundbar itself.

The other really annoying "feature" it has, is every time it goes into standby, it resets the volume - so apart from having to turn it back on, I have to turn the volume back up every time I turn it on. I was first thinking along the lines of having some kind of IR transmitter, automatically sending the volume up command every X minutes since I have it set to max anyway, and use the TV to control the volume - but I have no idea how I would do this There must be some kind of "hack" to prevent it going into standby?

Does anyone know how I can do this There are several projects for popular microcontrollers Arduino, et. You could test it with an IR remote from some other appliance and see if it keeps the soundbar awake. Thanks Richard, No, it's not any IR, it needs to be one of the remote's codes I'm aware of the Arduino projects for acting as a universal remote I was thinking that there would be an android app that can read them - since a camera can pick up the IR - I expected to be able to find an app to tell you what the code is I am very much a beginner I don't like the idea of using an Arduino for it, just because it's so overkill for the purpose I'm thinking along the lines of something like a high-pitched tone generator that humans can't hearthat I could plug inbetween the TV and the soundbar to simulate a constant sound - thus preventing it from going into standby?

I'm struggling to find a guide on how to make this kind of circuit You can probably use a FET transistor across the desired button. When you put voltage on the gate of the FET, it will conduct and simulate a button push.Log in.

Do you have the series or ? I am going to have to do some research in my own speakers to see if this is an issue.

Thanks, Ben; If you're running low level background music they can shut off or they can turn off when using them as monitors if you don't have them loud.

The way they fade in with the delay is a problem, but it's a bigger problem that JBL thinks this is a "feature" anyone wanted or needed! Just ridiculous that they don't have a recessed disable button.

I'll be ripping these apart I guess. Know where I can find a schematic? Sent from my iPhone. Last edited: Dec 7, Steve Garris Freshman.Connect with us. Electronics Forums. Who'd have thought we would ever need to press TWO buttons on a remote from our arm chairs. Tongue firmly in cheek!! I would have thought there is a way to disable the STBY but have never thought about it before now. You would need to get a schematic for the soundbar or open it up and see what's there. Oct 10, 3. Jan 18, 3 0 18, 0. I think it might have something to do with it not detecting that it is in use with my win7 PC. The bluetooth setting works perfectly and does not turn off by itself. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? Thank you. Aug 27, 14, 947, It's just a guess but if the level going into the aux input is too high it might cause the soundbar to shut off? Try turning the output down of the source and the volume of the soundbar up so you still hear the content at the same volume without overloading the input of the soundbar.

The soundbar may have be designed to shut down after 5 minutes if there is no signal on the aux input.By using our site, you acknowledge that you have read and understand our Cookie PolicyPrivacy Policyand our Terms of Service. Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It only takes a minute to sign up. At first it went smoothly and nicely. Then, the next morning, I used it, I was so surprised why it just turned off all on its own every 5 or 10mins.

It varies sometimes after just a minute it will shut down. Can somebody in this support center advise me of what is the right thing to do?

Should I return it to where I purchased it and ask for a replacement? I bought this here in South Korea. Thank you so much in advance. It seems to happen when the volume is very low and with bluetooth connection. Try to use it in a higher volume or for very low volume use cable connection.
